Death Note: 10 Stories We'd Want To See In Season 2

Even non-anime fans or casual watchers will have heard of Death Note. From its amazing characters, beautifully written suspense, and masterful acting (sub and dub alike), it's a thrill ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat for almost forty episodes.
The series does a pretty good job of wrapping up loose ends and giving the viewers a satisfying conclusion. Having said that, a second season would be a welcome treat to die-hard viewers (even if only for nostalgia's sake). And there are a few stories that have ample opportunity to be developed if that were to come true.

Naomi Misora's Family After Her Death
Naomi Misora was one of the tragic instances of collateral damage in the series. After the death of her fiance, FBI agent Ray Pember, Naomi plans to join the investigation only to be killed by Light when she gets too close. Due to Light's specifications, her body is never found.

The inclusion of her family in a second season would be a great way to get some proper closure for her character. Maybe a family member comes to seek revenge or her legacy is brought up.

Focus On Different Shinigamis
The lore of the Shinigami and the Death Note created an amazing basis for the series. These reapers have their own world, opinions on humanity, relationships with humans, etc.

Although the Shinigami world is seen to be crumbling and that not many are left, a second season that focused on another Shinigami (s) would be a great opportunity to further develop that world. Maybe the history of the Death Note (and the Shinigamis' thoughts on it) could also be explored.

Reveal The Shinigami King
The Shinigami King is never actually shown in the series and is only mentioned a few times. He is described as a father figure to the Shinigami and he is the only being in control of distributing the Death Notes.

If the Shinigami Realm is developed more in a second season, then revealing the Shinigami King and making him a proper character would be an interesting decision. It's also a mother opportunity to understand the origins of the Death Note (although the lore is pretty dense as it is).
